Phylway Construction has immediate openings for experienced On-Site Quality Control / Project Managers with the following requirements for long term levee/flood protection work in the New Orleans, LA area and the Vicksburg, MS area.

Currently have two (2) positions in the New Orleans region and one (1) in the Vicksburg, MS region

 On-Site QC / PM Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the PM with the procurement of required submittal documents
  • Maintain Daily Reports, Submittals, Submittal Register, Exposure Hours, RFIs’ and Correspondence in Resident Management System (RMS)
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with project plans/specifications
  • Maintain jobsite files
  • Maintain soil testing left chart
  • Coordinate all QC testing with the approved laboratory
  • Record all QC testing results on Daily Reports
  • Prepare agendas to conduct required meetings and maintain minutes of meetings for distribution to the project team
  • Perform Storm Water inspections and maintain reports
  • Monitor weather conditions at the project site and document on Daily Reports
  • Communicate with the QA representative
  • Track and document additional costs for Change Orders
  • Support the PM in preparation of Change Orders
  • Update the project schedule weekly
  • Keep track of payment quantities daily
  • Work as a member of the Safety Program providing additional support to the Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO)
  • Monitor key project performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Work with the Project Superintendent in coordination and scheduling subcontractors, trucking resources, and material deliveries
  • Provide additional over-sight to ensure project site is in strict conformance with environmental requirements
  • Monitor the budget and discuss budget issues with PM
  • Develop a close-out “punch list” and monitor its progress until completion
  • Any other duties as determined by the PM

 On-Site QC / PM Requirements and Qualifications

  • Ability to adapt to a changing construction environment
  • Ability to collaborate with a large team
  • Exhibits strong oral and written communication skills
  • Can analyze and solve problems
  • Is an efficient planner, organizer, and scheduler
  • Open to entry level, but experienced preferred
  • A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or associated field a plus
  • Experience with US Army Corps of Engineers projects and utilization of Resident Management System (RMS) a plus
  • Must have Valid driver’s license or must have transportation
